once upon a snowflake.

I am sitting here in the kitchen on my laptop with my sis... who is on her laptop. :)
We are in the middle of an ice storm... but, there are now some big, beautiful snowflakes falling outside at the moment.  Wow.  It kinda feels like Christmas has finally arrived. :)  We still have the Christmas tree up... been stuck at home all day... listened to some Christmas music...warming up by the fire...looks like next activity is roasting marshmallows on the stovetop. :)
This weekend, I did an engagement session for Heather and Josh... I'm glad we endured the frigid temperatures to get some really beautiful photos.
Enjoy the sneak below... click here to see more.

a beauty of a day.

welcome to my office... for the day...

Today was wonderful.  I was able to sleep in a little this morning... after a long night at IHOP with church friends.  The weather outside was absolutely divine.  I set up my office outside today... bistro table and chair.  overlooking the golf course.  macbook in tow.  oatmeal lunch.  soaking up the sunshine.  simply glorious.  Met up with my mom and sis late afternoon for coffee.  Birthday dinner at Zio's for my friend Katie.  I'm hoping for a long night of sleep tonight... and an earlier start to the day tomorrow.

needing some ocean breeze.

Take me here please... :)
I'm lovin' the sunshine and craving the ocean...
guess that usually happens during this time of year...
Just sitting here at a coffee shop doing some work...
story of my life. :)  But, I'm okay with that.
Working on getting some more weddings lined up for this summer.
Really looking forward to the youth service tonight!

This morning I got two shots... not my favorite activity! :)
But, it will be totally worth it if we get to go to Thailand!
I had to be up and around earlier than normal today... makes the day seem so much longer... which I'm liking at this point. :)  Snow flurries this morning.  Sunshine this afternoon.
So, here are some of the gorgeous photos of my friend Erin.
Enjoy! :)

I love Mondays... strange, I know. :)  Today I had to give myself a little slap on the wrist about being disciplined... I have to do that every once in a while.  It was a fun afternoon of taking some photos of my gorgeous friend, Erin.  I just love her... can't wait for you to see the pics! :)  I will have to post a few tomorrow.  And, I have decided to change my header to a valentine's theme after all... took the pic of the doily this morning.  Anywho (that's for you Hona), here is a picture of a bark candy endeavor this weekend.  BTW.  18.25 Life Group at Randy Bacon's studio last night was awesome!  Not so much looking forward to getting like 3 shots in the morning... but, the trip to Thailand will be so worth it! (90% sure we are going!) :)

oh saturday.

I went to Jack's 2 year old birthday party.
He is one precious little boy.  His momma did a great job on the John Deere tractor theme!
I had a fun afternoon as always with my sis at Barnes & Noble... one of our favorite hangouts.
I still have some photos I desperately need to edit to take to church tomorrow...
I just finished editing another shoot this evening.  Wish I had a picture to post from the day.
So I'm thinking about changing the header of my blog... this could be an ongoing change...
I'm thinking snow theme or Valentine's theme.  Be looking for something new. :)
(something that includes new photos, perhaps...)

new year. new blog. new camera. new inspiration.

It's a new year.  Fresh start.  Fresh blog.
I have been using a different blog for my photo blog.
www.heathercherie.wordpress.com
I may or may not try to import some of those posts.
I also have a website where you can view my photos.
www.heathercheriephotography.com
Last week, I got a Canon 5D and new lens that I am super excited about.
I feel like I am falling in love with photography all over again.
Not to mention... falling in love with living all over again.
I am excited for the year.  I see some challenges just in the horizon, but I know those will be opportunities to overcome and believe in the greatness of God.
I feel like I am learning so much and gaining fresh inspiration every day.
Now, it's time to live it out.
Here are some photos taken with my new camera.  Just a very small glimpse of more beautiful photos to come.  I hope you enjoy them.  I also hope you will have me capture your moments this year.  Photos are timeless.  People, young and old, continue to change.
